Lucknow: In a Heartbreaking incident, thirty children have died in the last 48 hours, many of them were newborn babies and sixty children’s have died in the last five days at a Baba Raghav Medical college hospital, which is the biggest hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur district. which has been in the constituency of UP chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s parliament over 19 years the UP government has ordered an investigation due to the large number of child deaths but reports say that due to interruption in the supply of oxygen at the hospital might be the cause.
The seven children have died at the Baba Raghav Das Medical College in the last one day and remaining of maximum 23 died on August 10; due to lack of oxygen supplies from the vendor because of previous bills had been not paid. so oxygen supplies to the hospital, might have been stopped But the UP government said that they are linked with many of the oxygen supplies vendors from other places it might be not the problem, Uttar Pradesh’s Medical Education Minister Ashutosh Tondon said that “There have been no deaths due to lack of oxygen supply” that district magistrate Rajeev Rautela of Gorakhpur has ordered an investigation and “the report will be out soon within 24 hours”. The State Health Minister Siddhartha Nath Singh said that, “Chief Minister visited the BMD hospital on August 9th, The Doctors did not make him aware about oxygen shortage in the hospital and he just ordered to inquiry about the problem this morning.
That, Late last night nearly 300 oxygen cylinders arrived from Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) Faizabad at the hospital, District Magistrate Rajeev Rautela on Friday told to the reporters that, “Medical college officials told us that there was alternative oxygen supply. Therefore the charge of lack of oxygen supply was not an issue to the hospital, he said. We just billed Rs. 70 lakh to the regular vendor, of which it had already paid Rs. 35 lakh to the vendor, we also got in touch with the vendor in Luck now, he gave a confirmation that there was a payment issue and the transaction was pending. We requested the vendor to not to interrupt the oxygen supply for the pending dues, he added.
