Hyderabad: The Four women’s Jai Bharathi, Shilpa Balakrishnan, A.S.D.Shanthi and Piya Bahadur plan to cover India’s neighbouring South East Asian nations by road through the newly laid India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral Highway. They will be riding 16992 kms across India, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Bangladesh to promote tourism in India and to showcase the rich culture and tradition of Incredible India! and our shared historical and cultural roots with the extended Indian Sub-Continent. They plan to visit 19 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in five nations and promote exchange tourism to the 35 UNESCO sites in India. Their ride will highlight safe tourism opportunities for women travelers in India and publicize road trips as a viable option for tourism over Incredible India’s 1,15,000 kms of road network. The women riders are hope to encourage international travelers visiting other South East Asian countries to include India as an extended travel itinerary through the IMT Highway and they will be organizing cultural evenings at selected pit stops (major cities / district headquarters) .
An overland expedition by four women motorcycle enthusiasts, covering seven nations in seven weeks on motorcycles, starting 11th February 2018 from Hyderabad, India.
The main idea is to ride to promote Incredible India &Telangana tourism, to showcase the safety of women travelers in India and to create content showcasing the less explored, but nevertheless fabulous, parts of our country. We would like to illustrate the same by emphasizing three major aspects:
The Incredible India! & Telangana Tourism, in their journey, the rider would like to emphasize and promote Incredible India! &Telangana Tourism through videos and documentary films that will showcase the rich legacy of India at selected pits tops. The rider will try to interact with the youth (who form the largest age demographic in our country) in every city and promote Incredible India for adventure tourism. Our pits tops and planned halts at UNESCO sites and tourist centers will serve as opportunities to showcase Incredible India! Videos and documentaries creating opportunities for shared digital social media content.
The Incredible India! – Safe Travels, through this road trip on motorcycles covering close to 17,000 kms across seven nations the rider will highlight that India is indeed a safe country for travelers – domestic and foreign, especially for women!
The Creating New Content, The riding experience chronicled by the accompanying production crew will highlight the ease of road travel in India. While on the journey, through live feeds on social media, the riders will be able to showcase the excellent road network across our country and encourage travelers to use roads more extensively as a way to discover India!. The publicity content generated in collaboration with India Tourism may be later aired through various TV channels.
