The renewed Indian Badminton Player and Olympic Silver Medalist PV Sindhu on today assumed the office of Deputy Collector in the AP state’s secretariat at Gollapudi, Vijayawada. Sindhu was come along with her parents to the office of Chief Commissioner of Land Administrators (CCLA), where she took charge. She met with CCLA commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha and filled the joining formalities for the services. Sindhu was appointed as a Group-I officer by the AP State government and the CM Chandra Babu Naidu had declared and given the appointment letter to her on 29th July 2017. The AP State government had given one month time to join as a Dy.Collector.
In May, the State Assembly had passed a bill amending the State Public Services Act to appoint Sindhu as a Group-I officer in the regime. As any recruitment in public services has to be only through the State Public Service Commission, selection committee or employment exchange, the government had to amend the AP (Regulation of Appointments to Public Services and Rationalization of Staff Pattern and Pay Structure) Act, 1994.
She has succeeded in the Olympics in 2016, Mr. Naidu had announced a cash reward of 3 crore rupees along with a residential plot in Amaravati and a Group-I officer job to Sindhu. Also, she receives that, the Telangana government awarded the ace shuttle with a cash reward of 5 crore rupees and a residential plot. Also, Telangana government offered a job, but Sindhu did not accept the offer from Telangana government, because her parent’s native state is Andhra Pradesh.
Sindhu, who will be contributing in the World Championships in Glasgow starting on 21st August, was given the 4th seed in the BWF World Badminton Championship. The two-time Bronze Medalist at World Championships in 2013 and 2014 editions. She was just below two-time Champion and Olympic Champion Carolina Marin.
