Bangalore: The Steve Smith’s Australians won for the Virat Kohli’s team India over 21-run wins. After making the decision to bat, Australia got off to a good start in the series, ending at 334-5 in 50 over’s.
The highlight of the Australian innings was a partnership of 231 runs in the first innings between David Warner and Aaron Finch, who scored 124 and 94 respectively. For India, Umesh Yadav was the main star with the ball, pick- out four of his five wickets, while Kedar Jadhav took his second wicket.
Opener Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane made a spectacular start and shared 106 runs during India’s reply. Earlier, Rahat was dismissed for 53 runs. Rohit Sharma was second in the list with 65 runs. Despite Virat Kohli failing to play well, Kedar Jadhav gave some hopes of winning the hosts with a 67-well-played title.
However, this was not enough as Mahendra Singh Dhoni (13) also failed to score runs and took India home. In the end, it was a memorable night for Australia, who finally won after a long defeat.
