Kochi: In the IPL spot-fixing case, the Kerala High Court has restored the life ban imposed on Indian cricketer S Sreesanth on Tuesday, A month after having lifted the ban on the former cricketer.
In the year 2015, the BCCI had imposed a life ban on former Rajasthan Royals player Sreesanth in connection with the IPL spot-fixing controversy, in which during the match of the cash-rich Indian Premier League in the 2013 season between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.
In April this year, the BCCI had rejected Sreesanth’s petition for review of his life ban and said that he would not compromise on his zero-tolerance policy towards corruption.
The Cricket Board of India had also informed the Kerala High Court that on the charges of spot-fixing, a criminal court had executed Sreesanth on the allegation, it was not enough to lift life ban.
The Sreesanth had approached a petition seeking the lifting of his ban in the Kerala High Court in March this year, so the court asked him to file a review petition before the BCCI.
However, the BCCI made incredible and before that Sreesanth had refused to give a ‘non-objection certificate’ to play in Scotland so that he could start a massacre on the board.
