The US Congresswomen Terri A. Sewell and Dina Titus participated in a fireside chat with women entrepreneurs in Hyderabad on Thursday. Policy making and opportunities for women entrepreneurs were discussed during the chat.
In her first visit to India, Dina Titus, US Congresswoman said, “We-hub’s vision is similar to the slogan – When women succeed, America succeeds.” She also said that women entrepreneurs have plenty of opportunities and need support to succeed as entrepreneurs.
During the discussion, Deepthi Ravula, CEO, We Hub, said, “Women are able to open businesses that cater to a different clientele or niche than their male counterparts. Overall, this accounts for improved economic growth and stability within a country. WE HUB is envisioned to create a supportive community for aspiring women entrepreneurs across various sectors where they can interact with VCs for funding, connect with corporate for scaling up their business, get advice from mentors to fine tune ideas, avoid costly mistakes, and march forward on the path to success with renewed confidence.”
The “Women have natural instincts of entrepreneurship and policy making. They play varied roles of budgeters, negotiators and often come up with new ideas,” said Terri A. Sewell, US Congresswoman during the fireside chat.
Later in the day, We Hub in association with Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, supported by the Ministry of External Affairs hosted a panel discussion on “Women Entrepreneurship : US and India Perspective”. The discussion was moderated by Deepthi Ravula, CEO, We Hub.
The Women entrepreneurs Geeta Rayala, Mytreyi Kondapi, Rajani Kasu, Sree Devi Jasti among many others also participated in the discussion.
