The Group “A” Officers of Atomic Energy Department, Government of India, from across the country, successfully completed “One-Week Residential Management Development Program (MDP)”, conducted by Dr MCR HRD Institute, Government of Telangana.The program was sponsored by Administrative Training Institute, Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.
The B P Acharya, IAS, Special Chief Secretary to Government & Director General, Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana gave away participation certificates to the officers in the valedictory function.
The B P Acharya, in his interactions with the officers, said that possessing mere technical skills is not enough for their successful careers. “In addition to technical skills, they must learn and perfect the art of dealing with people in order to achieve cherished goals of their organizations”, he stated.
The B P Acharya opined that while young employees are tech-savvy, their senior counterparts lag behind in this domain. He, therefore, advised the senior officers to put their best foot forward to learn and master the IT skills. “The information technology is changing at a fast pace and continuous updating of skills in this area by all employees, especially the senior officers, is a precondition of their professional success”, he stated.
The B P Acharya said that in the contemporary world of work there are ample opportunities for women employees to emerge as leaders. “A burning desire to grow professionally, coupled with a proactive approach to equip themselves with the right blend of skills, will take women employees to greater heights in their careers”, he stated.
The B P Acharya said that the E-Learning Modules on twelve soft skills and three domain-specific skills, designed by DoPT, Government of India will be of great help to them in enriching the skill sets of employees. He said that the officers have been exposed to these modules as a part of their training, and advised them to successfully complete the E-Learning modules in order to improve their effectiveness at their jobs.
The Rakesh Mohan, Scientific Officer-F, Ajoy Kumar Padhi, Scientific Officer-G, Smt G Vasantha Laxmi, Scientific Officer-F, and Sri P Raghu Kumar, Assistant Purchase Officer also spoke on the occasion. The Shobha Prasad, Assistant Director, Administrative Institute, Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India proposed a vote of thanks.
